BlogHer@Home

Ok first, welcome to my little blog all you BHAH'ers!

I'm so excited about this weekend. I'm a very new blogger (well, writting anyway - I've been stalking all of you for years) and thanks to Twitter, I'm getting to know some pretty special people. I love this community and any chance to get to know you bitches better is an opportunity I will take!

For those fortunate enough to be in Chicago this weekend, BlogHer must be like going to Mecca, or the Wailing Wall... or something like that and BlogHer at Home is more like going to the local Mission or makeshift chapel (and yes I'm noticing the religious references, but can you think of a better analogy? Honestly!)

When I first heard of BHAH, I was amazed and impressed with the sheer genius of PrincessJenn and Nic! This concept gave anyone not able to make the pilgrimage to the windy city the chance to meet and get to know some fellow crazy people incredible women all from the comfort of their own homes! I loved it and couldn't wait to sign up!

Then the swag started coming! Mountains and mountains of cool stuff - some from dedicated and generous fellow BHAH'ers and some was donated by equally generous and thoughtful people already going to 'the real thing' who didn't need to think us at all. Really people, your giftiness rocks!

As BlogHer started getting closer and more depth and substance got added to this little thing thrown together after a few too many fledgling idea for a BlogHer alternative, I started getting more and more excited. This isn't *just* something for us to do while all the cool people have real fun in Chicago - NO WAY! BlogHer at Home is becoming a very special event in its own right! I'm very happy to be a part of this inaugural event; one that no doubt will have enough stamina to help again in 2010 when a slew of people find themselves at home instead of at BlogHer.

For the record though? I TOTALLY plan on meeting you people in person next year - wherever BlogHer happens to be.

This weekend, I'm really looking forward to meeting new people, getting to know friends even better and learning from all of you how I can make this little piece of the web a little better!

Now where's my corkscrew?

I was also impressed by the awesomeness, the giftiness, and the it-all-came-togetherness of this event, in the little time they had. Too cool.

BHAH09 is awesome huh? I'm so glad Jenn and Nic came up with this idea, and what a fabulous job they've done!

I am already preparing for BlogHer10 in NEW YORK CITY! In fact, I have a tentative cost set for me to go...and it was just announced a little bit ago! I don't plan to miss this one!!!
