Sick, tired, and tired of being sick.
Friday, December 18, 2009 at 11:19AM It started after the birthday party.
I think it was November 21st, but it might have been the 28th. Whatever the case, it's been way too fucking long.
My daughter was really excited to go to her little friend's birthday party and didn't eat much in the way of breakfast or lunch - I chalked it up to excitement. Cake was eaten with typical 3 year old enthusiasm and overall, it was fun!
Later, at dinner, she was still not eating and her belly appeared.... full. Odd. Next came the request for a glass of milk. What followed was just gross. I hoped it was just too much sugar, but after a very l.o.n.g night of more gross, I decided it was a tummy bug. Great.
She was sick for a few days and I had her assessed. Doctor said well, she's had her H1N1, I'm sure it's something else.
My mom got it from her, I escaped it, but got a cold instead; that lasted for almost two weeks.
We were all feeling better when my husband returned home from being away for two months. Yay!
I FINALLY got my H1N1 vaccine on December 8th.
On the 11th, we had a nice family outing to see Grinch. Grace spiked a fever. Awesome.
I battled that fever for 3 days. but, she got better pretty quick.
Fast forward to this Tuesday... I woke up with a sore throat. That progressed into the deepest pit of hell faster than imaginable. A trip to the ER on Wednesday night gave me a loose H1N1 diagnosis (you can't get tested unless you're admitted) and I was sent home with Tamiflu and a warning to come back if it got any worse. Which it did. So now, I also have strep throat.
I'm an overacheiver, I know.
I'm getting better though. Which is good, because the only thing worse than being this sick... is being this sick at Christmas.
